    Figure 1 from Gunther (1957) shows activity and weight changes during
    postnatal placental transfusion.  Note that the baby started crying 9 minutes
    after birth, and that pulsations of the cord continued for 19 minutes after
    birth.

    What would the fate of this child have been if the cord had been clamped  
    within the first minute after birth?
